Methodology
Eliminate cognitive overhead, enable flow-state creative design work, and allow you to focus on solving your problem, not the tool. Sign up for a beta today and shape your simulation future.
Ember
Start your optical design process on a solid foundation. Easily and interactively adjust the surface curvatures, thickness, and material properties to get the layout and aberration balance that will set your design up for success. Get a clear visual representation of your systems cardinal points so you can immediately understand your system behavior. Ember makes first order design and layout your first thought, not an after thought.
Spark
Bring version control to your optical design process. Branch and explore different design spaces fearlessly, automatically reconciling the project specs against the design, so you can focus on finding the best solution not managing spreadsheets and files. Spark lives in the cloud, so your team is always up to date and your files are backed up. Spark makes collaborating on a design a click away.
Aurora
Jump to hyperscale with Aurora, a modern optical physics library for simulating optical physics via an ergonomic API to self-hosted or managed servers. Aurora streamlines building custom simulation pipelines at scale so you can focus on innovating with light, not the infrastructure and code needed to get it right. Aurora’s API is designed to allow you to efficiently express complex light-matter interactions. See beyond and let your imagination guide.
Arc
Bridge the gap between your mechanical and optical teams with Arc, a cloud-based app for Onshape. With Arc, your optical designs are imported as native features, enabling faster opto-mechanical designs, greater collaboration and understanding across teams. Arc goes beyond a generic STEP file import with automatic material definitions, clear ray diagrams, and opto-mechanical datum. With Arc, your optics are at home in CAD.
Community Forum
We believe in the betterment of all by building a strong optical community. We launched our community forum to provide a place for members of this field to exchange ideas, learn from one another, and grow together.
Our Team
-
Isaac Trumper | Ph.D.
8 years of experience researching optical design, metrology, and manufacturing at the University of Arizona (PhD) and University of Rochester (BSc). My passion is developing software that pushes the boundaries of what is possible in optical systems to make optics more accessible and to realize the next generation of technological advances, from AR/VR to exoplanet detection.

Logan R Graves | Ph.D.
9 years of experience researching biomedical optics, metrology, and manufacturing at the University of Arizona (PhD/BSc). After years of working with optics, I realized that the limiting factor to the prevalence of optics solutions wasn't a lack of vision or smart people working on the problem; it was a disconnect between how we design optics and how they are made. I care about creating optical software to provide tools that ensure life-saving optical products are actually manufactured, not just a dream.

Jeremy Shockley
An entrepreneur with over 20 years experience supporting enterprise high-tech software and hardware. I’m excited for the future of autonomous transportation and for photonic computational hardware.
Core Values
ELEOptics was founded in 2019 by Isaac Trumper and Logan Graves to explore novel ways software could propel their field forward. Jeremy Shockley joined shortly afterwards to grow the business and provide a unique perspective on the human interface of software. Our mission is to build tools that empower, and are thrilled to see what comes from greater innovativeness in this industry.
